GitHub Top 5: REA, ArtCraft, AnyPS5 and the one I'd install
The five repos that gained the most GitHub stars from Oct 10 to 17, 2026, counted down: REA (almost 250K stars in a week), ArtCraft, AnyPS5, Diagram Design and Anthropic's Claude Code plugin marketplace.

Every week I go through GitHub Trending and pick the five repos that gained the most stars in seven days. This week, Oct 10 to 17, 2026, number one gained almost 250,000 stars. The video above counts them down in about nine minutes. Star counts are from GitHub Trending for the week; totals as of Oct 18.
Rank | Repo | Stars this week | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | morluto/rea | 248,962 | 304.5k |
2 | storytold/artcraft | 20,267 | 31.6k |
3 | boykopovar/AnyPS5 | 20,518 | 41.2k |
4 | cathrynlavery/diagram-design | 9,024 | 56.9k |
5 | anthropics/claude-plugins-official | 2,328 | 41.5k |
Ranks follow GitHub Trending's own order, which is why AnyPS5 sits at #3 with slightly more weekly stars than ArtCraft.
#5 Claude Plugins Official
Anthropic's directory of plugins for Claude Code: 40 built by Anthropic, 14 from partners and the community, which go through a quality and security review. It includes code review, a pull request kit, twelve language servers, and partner plugins for GitHub, Linear, Playwright and Context7. Install with /plugin install <name>@claude-plugins-official.
My take: the code review plugin plus the language server for your stack is the first install I'd recommend. Anthropic says it cannot verify what third-party plugins do, so I'd only add partner plugins from companies I already trust.
#4 Diagram Design
An agent skill that draws a diagram as one HTML file with inline SVG, across 45 diagram types. It can read your website's colours and fonts and use them, and redraw old draw.io, Mermaid or Excalidraw files in its style. Install with npx skills add cathrynlavery/diagram-design.
My take: great for diagrams in articles and slides. For diagrams that live in Git and change every sprint, I agree with the author: stay with Mermaid, because this output is not a text format you can diff.
#3 AnyPS5
Converts PS5 game executables into native Linux and Windows programs. It does not emulate: both machines use x86, so the game's code runs directly, with rebuilt system libraries and shaders recompiled to SPIR-V. It ships no games, firmware or keys, and is GPL-2.0.
My take: impressive engineering and a niche tool. It is for preservation and research, with binaries you own.
#2 ArtCraft
A desktop app for AI images and video, built on "stage the scene first, generate second": 3D blocking, posed characters, a layered 2D canvas, and 62 models behind one interface, including Nano Banana, Kling, Veo and Suno. Open source, MIT or Apache 2.0.
My take: the right answer to the problem I have with prompt-only tools, which give a different shot every time. Worth a try if you make repeat characters or scenes.
#1 REA
Reverse Engineer Anything: one MCP server that lets a coding agent inspect a binary, an Electron app or a website without its source, explain how a feature works with evidence, then build it. Its examples include tracing Notion's clipboard through IPC and recovering a DX-Ball function that passes all 3,205 original tests. Everything runs locally.
My take: the most powerful repo on the list, and the one I'd handle with the most care. I'd use it to audit my own apps, for example to find secrets shipped in a bundle. Only use it on software you own or are allowed to analyse.
My pick
If you use Claude Code daily, I'd install #5 first. If you build agents, try #1 on your own app. If you write docs or blog posts, #4 will save you hours.
A new Top 5 comes out every week, as a video on the XHEART TV YouTube channel and as an article here.
